The Cub Scout program is designed for boys in the 1st through 5th Grades. Boys in the first Grade enter as Tiger Cubs and progress through ranks of Wolf (2nd Grade), Bear (3rd Grade) and Webelo (4th and 5th Grade). At the completion of the Cub Scout Program boys are ready to join a Boy Scout Troop. Boys can join the program at any rank, but for the most fun and optimal overall experience many parents opt to enter their sons as Tigers. Cub Scouting has nine purposes: • To positively influence character development and encourage spiritual growth • Help boys develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship • Encourage good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body • Improve understanding within the family • Strengthen boys' ability to get along with other boys and respect other people • Foster a sense of personal achievement by helping boys develop new interests and skills • Show how to be helpful and do one's best • Provide fun and exciting new things to do • Prepare boys to become Boy Scouts The Pack organizes many fun activities for the boys, including camping, hiking, community good turn events, the famous Pinewood Derby Car race and many, many more. Scouting provides a great opportunity to help balance a young boy’s development by augmenting school and extracurricular sports activities with a structured, time proven program that helps build strong leaders with strong values all being done in a very FUN environment.
